During the early weeks of spring 2023, we travelled from Almaty to lake Issyk-kul via Bishkek. it was a short road trip, that offered a chance to document and experience a journey. during the trip, I set out to experiment and grow as a photographer, to use limitations as opportunities for creativity, and to spend every moment studying the world around me. I captured photographs while leaning out of the windows of fast-moving cars. I found myself fascinated by the cross of cultures, history, rural life and modern convinces. the road to Issyk-kul is populated with abandoned factories and old farms. I think in many ways these images are a reflection of the life I have always yearned for, one with more of a connection to nature and a slower pace.
